I want to answer most asked questions (or issues, accusations of some people) about Islam. Well in fact all answers can be found on youtube or the web pages of Yusuf Estes and Dr. Zakir Naik etc. I wish you knew Turkish so that I could show you lots of videos from Turkey about Islam.
Unfortunately not only Islam haters but also some Muslims give wrong meanings to verses and use them for their benefits and goals.
Normaly people obey constitution and laws, but in religions, almost all of them, some people want their religion(verses) to be like his wish. They want their religon must obey their benefits :) Funny isn't it? But that is correct.
So what are truths?
1- What is "right hand posses" in the verse?
They are the women slaves or captives of a man.
2- Can a man have sex with his right hand posses freely?
No. He must marry. Before he marries, that woman must believe in God(can't be a pagan woman). And by marrying with her, since then she is a free woman, not slave.
3- Is there slavery or concubinage in Islam?
No. then you ask about the situation at Q1-2. Some people had already had slaves before accepting Islam. When the verses came from angel Gabriel one by one through out the years, slavery and concubinage were completely removed from society.
4- How? what are the evidences?
Of course they are all in Quran. Let's look.
47.4 - So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays down its burdens. That [is the command]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them [Himself], but [He ordered armed struggle] to test some of you by means of others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah – never will He waste their deeds.
There is no slavery in Islam. You have to set captives(prisoner) free either with some ransom or freely. If you dont let them go until you get ransom, then you have to look after them as a member of your family. It is a big responsibility. In all cases after the war finishes you have to let them go. After battle of bedir, prophet did that certainly. You can't force a captive work for you under bad-heavy conditions.
24.32 - And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing. 33 - But let them who find not [the means for] marriage abstain [from sexual relations] until Allah enriches them from His bounty. And those who seek a contract [for eventual emancipation] from among whom your right hands possess – then make a contract with them if you know there is within them goodness and give them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you. And do not compel your slave girls to prostitution, if they desire chastity, to seek [thereby] the temporary interests of worldly life. And if someone should compel them, then indeed, Allah is [to them], after their compulsion, Forgiving and Merciful.
Every rich muslim must give some money (alms-zakat) to poor. Who can be those poors? They are mentioned in Quran. And one them is slaves in the society. So the slave who gets the money can pay for his freedom.
The main problem is people who want to critisize Islam look at the verses one by one. In fact about a subject-matter verses are spreaded among chapters in Quran. You see above. One verse is in chapter 24, other is in 47. And there are a lot others in chapter nisa, muhammad, nur, enfal. If you want you can make deep search. Some says Isıs is like that, Mamluks were like that. It doesn't bother Islam. They are/were wrongdoers. Their problem; and all of us will be questioned after resurrection and we will be punished if we have big sins. And God says "don't come to near me with a human's right on you" means if something belongs to someone and you take it without his will, you both must agree on the issue. God will ask those who had slaves and harmed them.
If the slaves or captives were behaved badly, could they accept Islam? of course NO. So in Islam there is no compulsion. They must have seen how good we were so that they could accept Islam.

They usually look at english translation of Quran which can not be enough to learn. I am a teacher and a language cannot be translated to another one, one to one.

5- Can Muslims attack non-muslims (whenever they want or whatever the reason is)?
Let's clear out something. To Islam there are two kinds of non-muslims. a- people who have God's books(christians and Jews) b- pagans, atheists and others who don't believe in God.
now the answer: NO.
Let's look at verses;
for a) 29.46- And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, “We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him.”
for b) 60.8 - Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.

6- What are the war conditions for muslims; when must they attack to a tribe, nation etc?
Mainly 3 reasons for war.
I will answer and give verses from Quran.
a. If a society attacks Muslims because of their religion and wants to expel them from their lands.
60.8 - Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.
b. when there is fitnah(sedition, rebellion, provocation) God says fitnah is worse than war. To destroy fitnah, you can fight.
2.191 And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al-Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.
2.193 Fight them until there is no [more] fitnah and [until] worship is [acknowledged to be] for Allah. But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression except against the oppressors.
c. If two muslim nations or tribes have trouble between them, God wants us(the third person, tribe, nation) to talk to them and figure out their problem. And if the problem isn't solved and one of them attacks the other and use force, the third tribe should attack the other attacker. When the fight is over, then God wants us to talk again to solve it. (normaly in Quran God says muslims are brothers and don't fight)
49.9 - And if two factions among the believers should fight, then make settlement between the two. But if one of them oppresses the other, then fight against the one that oppresses until it returns to the ordinance of Allah. And if it returns, then make settlement between them in justice and act justly. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.
A few verses about war:
2.190- Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed. Allah does not like transgressors.
Most Islam haters mostly take these verses and attack us with their tongues, while isis uses those for attacking with guns 2.244- And fight in the cause of Allah and know that Allah is Hearing and Knowing. 2.216- Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.
7- To Islam who are Christians and Jews?
They are the people of scripture-books who believe in God in different way. To God(Allah) in Quran they have begun to worship their prophets, even Virgin Mary but than God, himself. God has never been born or caused a birth to anyone so Jesus can't be His son. It is a big deal. Not understanding God.
Jews are prophet killers and many others, don't want to mention here a lot. 2.87- And We did certainly give Moses the Torah and followed up after him with messengers. And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the Pure Spirit. But is it [not] that every time a messenger came to you, [O Children of Israel], with what your souls did not desire, you were arrogant? And a party [of messengers] you denied and another party you killed.
Chrisitans are false believers. 4.171- O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist – it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.
5.72- They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah – Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.
5.75- The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded.
8- Who are Muslims?
We are the believers of God who has one religion since the creation. Because all of them have been changed, so God wanted to give a duty to a last prophet.
2.136- Say, [O believers], "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."

What is the summary of this page?
Easy. We are all human beings of God. We must respect eachother, we mustn't insult eachother, deliver hate and fight. If we live our own way of life without attacking a nation or believers of a religion, we don't need to fight. Peace must be set on earth. By killing people we cannot go to paradise.
